Thelma Catrett

Mrs. Thelma Marie Catrett, age 78, of DeFuniak Springs, Florida passed away November 12, 2007, in Crestview, Florida. She was born June 16, 1929, in DeFuniak Springs, Florida to Walter L. and Rushie M. Hamilton McBroom.

Mrs. Catrett was a resident of Walton County and was Assembly of God by faith. She worked as an Electronics Assembler with Datacom. Thelma enjoyed cooking and taking care of her family.

Mrs. Catrett was preceded in death by her father and mother, one daughter, Norma Simmons and one granddaughter, Michelle Hunt.

Mrs. Catrett is survived by her loving husband of 59 years, Dykes Catrett of DeFuniak Springs; one daughter, Margaret A. Hunt and husband Lance of Middlesboro, Kentucky; two brothers, J.W. “Bud” McBroom and Tommy McBroom both of Glendale, Florida. She is also survived by 5 grandchildren, Pam Simmons of DeFuniak Springs, Florida; Paula McKinley and husband Billy of Atmore, Alabama; Michael Simmons and wife Holly of Pace, Florida; Amanda Simmons of Pace, Florida and Amy Rogers and husband Josh of Wichita Falls, Texas and 10 great-grandchildren.

A time of visitation will be held at 6:00~8:00 PM, Thursday, November 15, 2007, at Clary-Glenn Funeral Home; 230 Park Avenue DeFuniak Springs, Florida 32435. Funeral services will be conducted at 11:00 AM, Friday, November 16, 2007, at Clary-Glenn Funeral Home with Lance Hunt officiating. Burial will follow in the Magnolia Cemetery. Floral arrangements are being accepted. Those asked to serve as pallbearers are as follows: Larry Bell, Wayne Bell, Danny McBroom, Philip McBroom, Brian McBroom and Brent McBroom.
