Billy Ray Gainey

Billy Ray Gainey, 53, of Ponce de Leon, FL, passed away Nov. 10, 2006 in Crestview, FL. He was born Dec. 15, 1952 in DeFuniak Springs, FL to Lester and Elma McDonald Gainey.

Gainey had been a lifelong resident of Holmes and Walton County. He was Holiness by faith, and a member of the Macedonia Holiness Church in Ponce de Leon. He loved fishing and working in the yard. He was a very loving person. He enjoyed going to church, serving the Lord, visiting and calling friends and was noted for always saying “We have a Great God”.

Gainey was predeceased by his father and mother.

Gainey is survived by his two daughters, Pam Carson of North Carolina and Tobey Ann Gainey of California; two brothers, Charles Gainey of Tallahassee and James Gainey of Blountstown; three sisters, Ila Mae of Panama City, FL, Pearly Carroll of Greensboro, FL, and Betty Ann Williams of DeFuniak Springs.

Funeral services were conducted Monday, Nov. 13, 2006 at Clary-Glenn Funeral Home with Revs. Billy Locke, Kenney Montgomery and Joel Glenn officiating.

Burial followed in Magnolia Cemetery.
