Billy Scott Murphy

Billy Murphy, 71, of Ponce de Leon passed away May 8, 2006 at his residence. He was born June 6, 1934 in Holmes County, FL to Rupert and
Ida Scott Murphy.

Murphy was born and raised in the Bridge Creek Community. Upon retiring he returned to his home. He was Baptist by faith and a member of the Bridge Creek Baptist Church.

He was a veteran of the Korean conflict, serving his country in the U.S. Air Force. He worked as an autoparts manager for Pete’s Auto Parts in Porter, TX for 20 years. He loved hunting and fishing.

Murphy was predeceased by his father and mother, and two sisters, Kathleen Farrior and Corene Money.

Murphy is survived by his wife, Millie Murphy, of Porter, TX; daughter, Kathleen “Kym” Veazey and husband, William, of McKinney, TX; sister, Wavine Evans, of the Bridge Creek Community.

Funeral services were held Friday, May 12, 2006 at Bridge Creek Baptist Church with Rev. Gary Scott and Rodd Jones officiating.

Burial followed in the Sandy Creek Cemetery with military honors.
