Carlton H. Williams

Mr. Carlton “Pistol” Williams, age 87, of Santa Rosa Beach, Florida passed away November 20, 2007, in Destin, Florida. He was born September 12, 1920, in West Bay, Florida to Gamble and Leathie Andrews Williams.

Mr. Williams was a lifelong resident of Walton County. He was Baptist by faith and a charter member of Cross Point Baptist Church of Santa Rosa Beach, Florida. He worked for over 27 years as a Technical Inspector in supply at Eglin Air Force Base. He retired from the Sun Coast Girl Scouts as a Camp Ranger.

Mr. Williams was preceded in death by his father and mother, his wife Iris Marie Williams, one sister Bonnie Lee Hall.

Mr. Williams is survived by his two sons Rodney E. Williams and wife Windy of Santa Rosa Beach, Florida and Chris Williams of Ocean Springs, Mississippi one brother Clifton E. Williams and wife Melody of Ft. Walton Beach, Florida; one sister Mary E. Harris of Portland, Florida; two grandchildren Sharon Lynn Williams and Melanie Ann Comentino and husband Tom.

A time of visitation will be held 1:00~2:00 PM, Friday, November 23, 2007, at South Walton Baptist Church; 24388 US Hwy 331 South; Santa Rosa Beach, Florida 32459. Funeral services will be conducted at 2:00 PM, Friday, November 23, 2007, at South Walton Baptist Church with Reverend Joel Glenn officiating. Burial will follow in the Gulf Cemetery. Floral arrangements are being accepted. We would like to thank the Staff of Delta Health Care Center for all the love and care they have shown to our family, Mrs. Iris Williams, who lived at Delta for the last 4 years and Carlton, who lived at Delta for the last 7 years. Carlton was known as the “Counselor” for all the Staff at Delta and was known by visitors, residents and anyone who came there. Carlton was also a strong supporter for the Staff. They will miss him very much.
