Curtis R. Miller

DEFUNIAK SPRINGS-Mr. Curtis R. Miller, 69, of 902 Freeport Rd. died early Monday morning in a local hospital.

Mr. Miller was a native and lifelong resident of Walton County. He served three terms as Walton County sheriff, beginning in 1934 and ending in 1960. Mr. Miller was a member of the National Sheriffs Association, the First Presbyterian Church of DeFuniak Springs, Wildey Lodge 14 IOOF, and DeFuniak Lodge 170 F&AM. He was also a retired merchant and farmer.

Survivors include his widow, Mary Kathryn Miller of DeFuniak Springs; a daughter, Mrs. James C. Hardy of Newnan, Ga; a son, George Ralph Miller of DeFuniak Springs; and four grandchildren.

Funeral services will be 2 p.m. Wednesday in the First Presbyterian Church with the Rev. Henry D. Mooney officiating.

Burial will be Magnolia Cemetery with Clary Funeral Home directing.

The body will be placed in the church one hour prior to services.
