Francis Dougherty

Mrs. Francis Dougherty, age 81, of Freeport passed away Wednesday, September 12, 2007. She was born January 14, 1926 in Clarendon, Arkansas to Elmer and Myrtle Hodge.

Mrs. Dougherty had been a resident of Freeport for the past 27 years. She was Catholic by faith and a member of the St. Rita’s Catholic Church in Santa Rosa Beach, Florida. She loved growing flowers, vegetables, gardening and feeding the birds. She enjoyed setting on her front porch and spending time with her family.

Mrs. Dougherty was preceded in death by her father and mother; two brothers Glenn and Kenneth Hodge.

Mrs. Dougherty is survived by her husband of 34 years Edward Dougherty of Freeport, Florida; two step-sons Todd Dougherty and wife Cindy of Texas and John Dougherty of Tennessee; three daughters Faye Tigert and husband Butch of Las Vagas, Nevada, Linda Bobo of Walls, Mississippi and Bobbie Lencke and husband Sam of Lakeland, Tennessee; special niece Teresa Hall; eight grandchildren Michael, Jeff, Scott, Cindy, Cristy, Jeffery, Shannon and Candace. A time of visitation will be held 7:00~9:00 PM, Friday, September 14, 2007 at St. Rita’s Catholic Church; 137 Moll Drive, Santa Rosa Beach, Florida 32459.

Funeral services will be conducted at 11:00 AM, Saturday, September 15, 2007 at St. Rita’s Catholic Church, with Father Tom Collins officiating, burial will follow in Gulf Cemetery. Floral arrangements are being accepted or donations may be sent to St. Rita’s Catholic Church; 137 Moll Drive Santa Rosa Beach, Florida 32459.
