Frederick John Stock

Frederick John Stock, 67, of DeFuniak Springs, FL, passed away early Tuesday morning, Sept. 5, 2006 at the family residence.

Stock was born Oct. 4, 1938 in Milwaukee, WI, the son of Frederick Wilkie Stock and Eva Agnes Kulpa Stock.

Stock was a veteran having served his country with the US Marines as an officer during the Viet Nam War.

After some eleven years with the Marines, he was later employed by the Federal Bureau of Prisons service some twenty-eight years with that agency, his last assignment as warden of the Federal Prison in Atlanta, GA.

It was during training with the agency at Eglin that Stock and his wife discovered the DeFuniak Springs area and planned their retirement for this area. He and his wife retired to DeFuniak Springs in 1995. He was Roman Catholic and was part of the fellowship of Saint Margaret Catholic Church in DeFuniak Springs. He is predeceased by his brother, Michael Stock.

Among survivors are his wife, Nancy Stock; his daughter, Barbara Rickard, of Marianna; his son, Robert Stock and wife, Rachel, of Stafford, VA; his grandchildren, Erik and Janay Rickard, Nicole Northcutt, Heather and Ashley Stock, and his great-grandson, Tyden Rickard.

A mass of [Christian] burial was held Friday, Sept. 8, 2006, at Saint Margaret Catholic Church in DeFuniak Springs, with Father Rick Dawson celebrant and Father John Noe concelebrant.
