Gerald McCormick

Gerald McCormick, 69, of DeFuniak Springs, FL passed away Nov. 7, 2006 in DeFuniak Springs. He was born Oct. 20, 1937 in Darlington, FL to Earl McCormick and Mattie Mae Davis McCormick.

McCormick had lived most of his life in Walton County. He was Church of Christ by faith, and was a member of the Liberty Church of Christ. He was a developer working as a building contractor, owning and operating apartment rentals. Working was his passion always taking great pride in all of his work.

McCormick was predeceased by his father and mother, and two brothers, Burl and Thomas McCormick.

McCormick is survived by his loving wife of 50 years, Frankie McCormick, of DeFuniak Springs; one son, G. Dewayne McCormick and his wife, Lisa, of DeFuniak Springs; one daughter, Winona Lee of Pensacola, FL; three brothers, Harold McCormick of Darlington FL, Earl McCormick and wife, Joann, of DeFuniak Springs, and Terrell McCormick of Orlinda, TN; five sisters, Earline Gainey of [Murfreesboro], TN, Christine Pardue and husband, Bud, of Whitehouse, TN, Mary Rushing and husband, Carlton, of Orlinda, Edna Merle Clendinin and husband, Keith, of Pensacola, FL, and Marilyn Simmons of Freeport, FL, and four grandchildren, Karli Weddington, Reanna McCormick, Kera Straughn, and Oliva Straughn.

Funeral services were conducted Thursday, Nov. 9, 2006 at Clary-Glenn Funeral Home Chapel with Ministers Terell, Harold and Jerry McCormick officiating.

Burial followed in Gaskin Cemetery.
