Glen Edwin Thomason

Glen Edwin Thomason, age 80, went to be with his Lord on October 11, 2007, at his home after a long illness. He was born in Union, Florida on March 28, 1927.

He was a resident of DeFuniak Springs, Florida for the past 62 years. He was a member and former deacon of the First Baptist Church. Glen retired from Gulf Power Company after 42 years of service and was owner and operator of Thomason Seed.

He was preceded in death by his parents D.E. & Aubrey Thomason, and his brother, Roy.

Glen is survived by his wife, Mary Thomason, of 60 years; his daughters Dawn Manning; Lesa Harrison and her husband, Don; Cyndi Goolsby and her husband, Dale; Julie Guy and her husband, Bert; and one son, Eddie and his wife, Melissa. He is also survived by his sisters: Marjorie Scott and Kathleen Crawford of DeFuniak Springs; Ethleen Hoogland and Bobbie Laird Oliver of Pensacola; and Darry Jean Corn of Albuquerque, New Mexico. Eleven grandchildren, two great-grandchildren, and numerous nieces and nephews also survive.

A time of visitation will be held at 2:00-3:00 PM, Sunday, October 14, 2007, at Clary-Glenn Funeral Home; 230 Park Avenue DeFuniak Springs, Florida 32435. Funeral services will be conducted at 3:00 PM, Sunday, October 14, 2007, at Clary-Glenn Funeral Home, with Reverend Jerry Chumley officiating. Floral arrangements are being accepted or donations may be made to the First Baptist Church Building Fund at 216 East Live Oak Avenue, DeFuniak Springs, Florida 32435, or to your favorite charity. Those asked to serve as pallbearers are as follows Neil Harrison, Joshua Manning, Christopher Goolsby, Cole Goolsby, Hunter Guy, Justin Guy, Craig Farrior and Johnny Sandhu. Burial will follow in the Sandy Creek Cemetery.
