Herbert Allen Singletary, age 36, of DeFuniak Springs passed away February 14, 2008. He was born April 23, 1971 in DeFuniak Springs to Herbert Olen and Linda Sue Johnson Singletary.
Allen had been a lifelong resident of DeFuniak Springs. He was Holiness by faith and attended New Life Holiness Church. He graduated from Walton High School in 1991. Allen worked as a Correctional Officer at Walton Correctional Institute. He loved to hunt, fish and spend time with his family, especially his Mawmaw and nephews.
Allen was preceded in death by his Paternal Grandparents, Lloyd and Jettie Singletary; Maternal Grandfather, Wilmer Johnson; one uncle, Willard Singletary and one aunt, Gwen Rushing.
Allen is survived by his father and mother, Olen and Linda Singletary; Maternal Grandmother, Lillian Johnson; one brother, Michael Olen Singletary and Misty Singletary; two nephews, Logan Singletary and Taylor Singletary; three aunts, Jennifer Singletary, Charlotte Campbell and husband Jerry all of DeFuniak Springs, Florida and Nadine Fuqua and husband Randall of Shelby, Alabama; and uncle, Edgar Rushing of Ponce De Leon, Florida. He is also survived by cousins, Amanda Willcox and Andrea McCrory and numerous friends.
Visitation services will be conducted at 2:30~3:30 PM, Thursday, February 21, 2008 at Clary-Glenn Funeral Home Chapel; 230 Park Avenue, DeFuniak Springs, Florida 32435.
Funeral services will be conducted at 3:30 PM, Thursday, February 21, 2008 at Clary-Glenn Funeral Home, with Reverend Kenny Montgomery officiating.
Burial will follow in the Magnolia Cemetery.
Allen’s cousins will be serving as pallbearers: John Singletary, Jason Singletary, Jamie Singletary, Curt Campbell, Eric Rushing and Troy Fuqua.
Floral arrangements are being accepted.
