James Buford Paul

James Buford Paul, 77, of Pensacola, FL, passed away Aug. 3, 2006, in Pensacola. He was born Sept. 1, 1928 in Ponce de Leon, FL to John and Beedy Arrant Paul.

Paul had lived most of his life in Pensacola. He was Baptist by faith. He was a veteran of the Korean Conflict and the Vietnam War serving his country in the US Navy with over 20 years of service before retiring as a 1st Class Petty Officer working as a photographer. He also worked at the NAS in Pensacola in Graphic Arts and Photographer with over 20 years of service before retiring. Paul had received numerous awards for his photography and graphic arts. Among those was The Civilian of the Year Award.

Paul was predeceased by his father and mother, and his wife, Betty Paul.

Paul is survived by his two daughters, Deni M. Paul, of Pensacola, and Diane P. Walker, of Middleburg, FL; three brothers, Malrie Paul and wife, Edith, and Melvin Paul and wife, Carleen, of Prosperity, FL, and Bryce Paul and wife, Sharon, of DeFuniak Springs, FL; five sisters, Mildred Brooks and husband, Edsel, of Ponce de Leon, FL, Thelma Stringfellow and husband, Bo, of Columbus, GA, Muriel Collins, of Tallahassee, FL, Earlene Iacullo, of Chicago, IL, and Christine Sweeney and husband, Tom, of Prospect, KY; two granddaughters, Terri Leigh Walker and Jaimie Denise Walker.

Funeral services were conducted, Tuesday, Aug. 8, 2006 at Pleasant Ridge Baptist Church, with Reverends Dale Paul and Joel Glenn officiating.

Burial followed in Pleasant Ridge Cemetery.
