John Jette McCaskill

MARIANNA — (Special) — J. J. McCaskill, 65, prominent Marianna businessman, died at his home here Sunday night after a long illness.

Mr: McCaskill came to Marianna in 1922 and since that time has been president of the J. J. McCaskill motor company.

He is survived by his wife, Mrs. Eva McCaskill of Marianna; two daughters, Miss Adelaide McCaskill of Marianna and Mrs. Charles Garraway of Port St. Joe; one son, Dexter McCaskill of Marianna; three sisters, Mrs. Ella Burke, Mrs. Olin Campbell and Mrs. I. D. Stinton, all of DeFuniak Springs, and four grandchildren.

Funeral services will be held at 9:30 a.m. Tuesday at the home with the Rev. M. A. DuRant, pastor of the First Presbyterian church, officiating. Burial will be in the family plot In DeFuniak Springs cemetery.

Pallbearers will be: Active, R. S. Pierce, Jr., Wallace Campbell, Cleve Andrews, Dr. Frank Watson, Dewey Rowe, C. C. Harrison, Dr. D. Whitaker and Charles Liddon; honorary, W. H. Watson, Dr. John J. McGuire, John Malone, Walter Harbeson. and J. D. Russ, Jr., all of Pensacola, Thomas Walker, Jake Jones, Graceville, Dr. E. L. Huggins, DeFunlak Springs, Wesley Jones, John McFarbin, Jr., F. C. Daffin, R. L. Hinson and Ralph Harrison, of Marianna.

Mr. McCaskill was prominent in the Elks and the Shrine and was a charter member of the Rotary club.
