John L. Arnold

John L. Arnold, 67, of the Liberty community, passed away at the family residence late Thursday night, Aug. 17, 2006. He was born Aug. 3, 1939 in Crestview, FL, the son of Eddy Lee Arnold and Maudrena Harrison Arnold.

He, moved to Ohio in the early sixties where he was employed by Hudepohl Brewery for some twenty years. After retirement, he moved back home in August of 1993. He spent his retirement enjoying fishing and playing bingo and [occasionally] made the trip to Biloxi to test his luck, but his favorite past time was being PaPaw to his grandchildren. Arnold was part of the fellowship of New Harmony Baptist Church.

Among survivors are his wife, Melodie Arnold; his father-in-law, Thomas W. White, of Fairfield, OH; the mother of his children, Margaret Lee, of Pace, FL; his sons, Aaron Arnold and wife, Becky, of Pace, Ricky Lee and wife, Elena; his daughters, Brenda O’Dillon and husband, John, of Pace, Senior Chief Robyn Marie Pierce, stationed with the United States Navy in San Diego, Rebecca Cassidy and husband, Thomas, of DeFuniak, Petty Officer Rachael Nichole Garcia, stationed with the United States Navy in Pensacola, FL; his brothers, Roy Arnold and Jack L. Arnold, both of Liberty, FL; his sisters, Joyce Bell, of Liberty, and Martha Peacock, of DeFuniak Springs; his brothers-in-law, Ray and wife, Kathy, Richard and wife, Maggie, William and wife, Ellie, Garrett and wife, Martha, and Michael and wife, Nora; his sisters-in-law, Rita and husband, Jack, and Bonita and husband, Pat, and the loves of his life, his grandchildren, Cindy, Shauna, Quintin, Chase, Sierra, Zachary, Jamie, Derrick, Brandy and Adrian. Six great-grandchildren also survive.

Funeral services were held Tuesday, Aug. 22, 2006 at 10 a.m. in Jerry Evans Chapel. Burial followed in Clear Springs Cemetery.
