Lester Matthew Schofield, 53, of Gaskin, FL passed away Oct. 28, 2006 in DeFuniak Springs, FL. He was born Sept. 14, 1953 in Walton County, FL to Benjamin and Annie Ruth Mathews Schofield.
Schofield had been a life-long resident of Walton County. He was Baptist by faith. He was a very talented carpenter and enjoyed woodworking. He loved children.
Schofield was predeceased by his mother, Annie Ruth Schofield; two brothers, Willard and Horace Schofield.
Schofield is survived by his father, Ben Schofield, of Gaskin; one son, Leslie Matthew Schofield and wife, Elaine, of DeFuniak Springs; one daughter, Sonia Schofield Lindsey and husband, Michael, of Freeport; six brothers, Clifford Schofield and wife, Peggy, of DeFuniak Springs, David Schofield and wife, Brenda, Ben Schofield and Richard Schofield and wife, Voncile, all of Gaskin, Don Schofield and wife, Joan, of Pensacola, and Fred Schofield and wife, Roberta, of Dothan, AL; four grandchildren, Kirk Schofield, Chelsea Schofield , Levi Schofield, and Hannah Umble.
Graveside services will be conducted at 2 p.m., Thursday, Nov. 2, 2006 at Gaskin Baptist Church Cemetery, with Rev. Larry Sweat officiating.
A time of visitation will be held from 6-8 p.m., Wednesday, Nov. 1, 2006 at Clary-Glenn Funeral Home Chapel, 230 Park Avenue, DeFuniak Springs.
Floral arrangements are being accepted.
