Lillian Fay Mims

Lillian Fay Mims, age 83, of Pensacola died January 14, 2001 at her daughter’s home.

Mrs. Mims was born in Walton County, FL on January 15, 1917. Her family came to Pensacola in 1940. A dedicated and devoted wife, mother, grandmother, and homemaker, Lillian was the kind of person who made the world special just by being in it. She taught and gave unconditional love to all of her family and friends who became her family. We will all remember her with love.

She was preceded in death by her first husband Howard Burton Cochran of Topton, NC, who died in battle during WWII, and her second husband of 49 years, Jechonias Lee Mims, who died in 1995 after a lengthy illness.

She is survived by two daughters, Katherine Mae Cochran and Francis Kay Mims; granddaughter, Holly Noel Whalen; two sisters, Gearldine Hayes and Betty Ely; 4 brothers, Sebron Samuel Kelly, Jr., Watson Dale Kelly, Louis Wayne Kelly, and Jimmy Harold Kelly; her nephew, Jerry Dean Kelly.

Funeral services will be at 1 p.m. on Tuesday, January 16, 2001 at Harper Morris Memorial Chapel.

Burial will be in Bayview Cemetery.

Friends may call at the funeral home from 5 to 7 p.m. on Monday, January 15, 2001.
