Lola Winona Durst Caswell

Mrs. Lola Winona Durst Caswell, 90, of DeFuniak Springs, FL, passed away December 8, 2006. She was born Oct. 29, 1916 in Fredericksburg, TX to Ernest Albert Durst and Lena Schmidt Durst.

Mrs. Caswell had been a resident of DeFuniak Springs for the past 70 years. She was Methodist by faith and a member of the First United Methodist Church. A gifted piano player, she could play any piece she heard by ear, never having had a lesson. She was a loving wife, mother, grandmother and great-grandmother, who enjoyed caring for her family.

Mrs. Caswell was predeceased by her father and mother; two brothers, Chester and Wallace Durst; one sister, Elsie Vignes; her husband of 67 years, Robert Baker Caswell, and her only child, Winona Caswell Nethery.

Mrs. Caswell is survived by her granddaughter, Dawne Miller and husband, George Ralph Miller, and two great-grandchildren, Courtney Celeste Miller and Curtis Caswell Miller, all of DeFuniak Springs.

Funeral services were conducted Monday, Dec. 11, 2006 at First United Methodist Church of DeFuniak Springs, with Revs. Robert West and Hubert McCrary officiating. Memorials can be made to the First United Methodist Church in DeFuniak Springs, 88 Circle Drive DeFuniak Springs, FL 32435.

Pallbearers were Harold Carpenter, Johnny Irvin, Allan Rutherford, Ormon Caswell, Max Baxter, and Ron Brannon.

Burial followed in Magnolia Cemetery.
