Mack Jones, of the Leonia community, passed away at his residence, Thursday, July 13, 2006. He [was] born March 10, 1940 in Bonifay, FL, the son of Winston Churchill Jones and Edna Ruth Sheffield Jones. He was predeceased by his father W. C. “Ben” Jones.
Among survrivors are his daughter, Angie Brunson, and husband, Donnie, of Geneva; his mother, Ruth Jones, of Bonifay; his brothers, Jack Jones and wife, Flynn, of Leonia, Jerry Jones and wife, Cecilia of South Walton; his sister, Pat Polston and husband, Lomax, of Leonia; his grandsons, Jonathan, Joseph, Jim and Jay and numerous nieces and nephews also survive.
Pallbearers were Gary Tinsley, Bob Newsom, Shean Edwards, Jerry Prescott, John Edwards and Billy Butts. Honorary pallbearers were Jimmy Stafford, Henry Prescott, John Carter and James Hart.
Funeral services were held Sunday, July 15, 2006, at Leonia Baptist Church, with Reverends Joel Davis, Stacey Stafford and David Davis officiating. Burial followed in Leonia Cemetery.
