Marjorie Miller Wise, 95, widow of the late Danny Hugh Wise passed away Wednesday, May 31, 2006, in a Crestview hospital. She was born December 29, 1910 in Freeport, FL, the daughter of Eugene Henry Miller Sr. and Laura Etta Mace Miller. She taught school, fifth and sixth grade for a few years, but later worked with her husband in one of DeFuniak Springs first businesses, City Cash Market, and later, Wise’s Grocery. She was a member of First United Methodist Church of DeFuniak Springs.
Among survivors are her daughter, Dr. Frances Louise Wise, of DeFuniak Springs, and numerous nieces and nephews.
Wise’s request were no flowers or food. Funeral services were held Friday in Jerry Evans Chapel, with Dr. Cecil Bradley officiating. Private graveside services were held for the family in the cool afternoon in Magnolia Cemetery.
