Mrs. Mary “Kat” Kirkland, 47, of Gaskin, FL passed away Thursday, June 22, 2006, at the family residence. She was born May 13, 1959 in Reidsville, GA, the daughter of Ernest Willie and Mary Magdalene Peters Davis. She was a member of Chapel Hill Baptist Church.
Among survivors are her husband, Kenneth Kirkland, of Gaskin; her mother, Maggie Aplin, of Andalusia, AL; her daughters, Elizabeth Kirkland and Maggie Kirkland, both of DeFuniak Springs; her sisters, Joyce Adelia Moody and Sylvia James, both of Canton, GA, and Ann Wright and husband, Randy, of Andalusia; her brothers, Paul Davis and wife, Jean, of Acworth, GA, and Jeff Davis, of Crestview. One grandson, Teague Lucas James Kirkland also survives.
Funeral services were held Sunday, June 25, 2006 in Jerry Evans Chapel with Reverend Jerry Chumley officiating. Burial followed in Cluster Springs Cemetery.
