Melvin Eugene Belcher

Mr. Melvin Belcher, age 77, of DeFuniak Springs, Florida passed away January 6, 2008 in DeFuniak Springs. He was born July 19, 1930 to Roy C. and Mamie Price Belcher.

Mr. Belcher had been a resident of Walton County, Florida and was Baptist by faith. He was a veteran of the Vietnam Era, serving his country in the United States Navy with over 30 years of service, before retiring as a Master Chief Medic.

Mr. Belcher was preceded in death by his father and mother and five brothers, Bobby Rex Belcher, Earl Jackson Belcher, Earnest Willie Belcher, twin brothers, Larry Leon Belcher and Roy Ladon Belcher.

Mr. Belcher is survived by his wife, Doris Ann Belcher; two sons, Melvin E. Belcher, Jr. and Charles Robert Belcher; one brother, Reverend R.C. Belcher and one sister, Carol and husband Russell Davidson of Acwrouth, Georgia. He is also survived by 3 grandchildren, Nathan Belcher, Paul Belcher and Julia Belcher.

Memorial Services will be held at 11:00 AM, Wednesday, January 9, 2008 at Clary-Glenn Funeral Home Chapel 230 Park Avenue; DeFuniak Springs, Florida with Reverend R.C. Belcher officiating.

Floral arrangements are being accepted.

Memorialization will be by Direct Cremation with Clary-Glenn Funeral Home in charge of arrangements.
