Merle Wise

Merle Wise, 82, passed away in a Florala health care facility on Sunday, February 26, 2006. She was born in Covington County, AL, the daughter of the late Claude and Leila Barlow Gomillion, and was the widow of the late Selman Wise who passed away in 1974. She was a member of the Ebenezer Baptist Church. She retired with 45 years of service with Franklin Ferguson Company in Florala. She was an excellent cook, preparing many of her families favorite foods.

She loved her three grandchildren and found great pleasure in them. She loved to shop and spent many hours seeking items of need.

Survivors are daughter, Claudette Stewart and husband, Lynn, of DeFuniak Springs, FL; son, Wayne Barrineau and wife, Cindy, of Lockhart, AL; three grandchildren, Chad and Heather Stewart, of Chipley, FL; Buffi Lowery, of Pensacola, FL; Andrew Barrineau of Lockhart, AL; two great grandchildren, Collin Stewart and Tiney Lowery.

Funeral services were scheduled for 11 a.m., Wednesday, March 1, 2006, at Ebenezer Baptist Church, with Reverend Joel Glenn officiating. Interment followed in the Ebenezer Cemetery.
