Minnie I. Rushing Bell

Minnie I. (Rushing) Bell, 101, passed away January 15, 2006 in DeFuniak Springs, FL. She was born on Jan. 14, 1905 in Coffee County, AL, to D. O. Rushing and Polly Ann Floyd Rushing.

Bell was a life long resident of Walton County. She was Church of God by faith and a member of the Beech Grove Church of God. Bell loved quilting, gardening, and fishing. She especially enjoyed raising her four children.

Minnie Bell is preceded in death by her husband, Ruby Walter Bell; and also by her parents, D.O. Rushing and Polly Ann Rushing. She is also preceded by two sons, Hollis Bell and Clyde Walter Bell; a daughter, Lottie Lapp; a sister, and nine brothers.

Bell is survived by one son, Clifton Bell and wife, Nell, of DeFuniak Springs, FL.; one daughter, Maggie and husband, Sam Martin; one daughter-in-law, Donnell Bell, of Winter Haven, FL; one brother, Clarence Rushing, of Ponce de Leon, FL; and two sisters, Abby Lou Jones, of Ponce de Leon and Alma Richardson, of Fargo, GA. Bell is also survived by ten grandchildren, Shirley Palmer, Sharon Kay Cannon, Patricia and Kahl Edwards, Jimmy and Sib Bell, Diane Abbott, Brenda and Troy Ward, Clifton and Dorothy Bell Jr., John Martin, Linda and Jody Foy and Charlotte and George Montgomery; eighteen great-grandchildren, fifteen great-great-grandchildren, and numerous nieces and nephews.

Funeral services were held Wednesday, Jan. 18, 2006 in the chapel of Clary-Glenn Funeral Home, 230 Park Avenue, DeFuniak Springs, with Rev. Donald Ross and Rev. Kenny Montgomery officiating.

Burial followed in the Euchee-Valley Cemetery.
