DEFUNIAK SPRINGS – Mr. Ralph Newton Spence, 85, of 115 Clay St., died Monday in the Florida State Hospital [Chattahoochhee].
Mr. Spence was a native and lifelong resident of Walton County and a member of the First Presbyterian Church. He was a veteran of World War I and a member of American Legion, post no. 61.
Survivors include his widow, Abbie Peaden Spence; a daughter, D. Leslie Smith of Atlanta; a brother, T. R. Spence; three grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.
Graveside funeral services will be 2 p.m. Wednesday in the Magnolia Cemetery with the Rev. Henry Mooney officiating.
