Randy Moore Burgess, 44, of DeFuniak Springs, FL, passed away Tuesday, June 13, 2006, in Fort Walton Beach Medical Center. He was born November 21, 1961 in Samson, AL, the son of Ray Neal Burgess, Sr. and Virginia Elaine Day Burgess. Burgess grew up in DeFuniak Springs and was a member of Walton Senior High’s graduating class of 1979. Most will remember Randy as owner and operator of Burgess Sign and Awning in DeFuniak Springs. He was Baptist by faith and was a Master Mason and member of Glendale Lodge #225 F&AM.
Among survivors are his children, Jennifer, Amanda, and Brian; his brother, Ray Burgess and wife, Janea, of DeFuniak Springs, and his sister, Linda Faye Poe and husband, James, of Largo, FL. Numerous nieces and nephews and cousins, including Wayne and Gary, and aunts and uncles, including Al Pryor and wife, Carrie, of Glendale, also survive.
Funeral services were held Friday, June 16, 2006 in Jerry Evans chapel, with Reverend Larry Sweat officiating. Masonic graveside services followed.
