Recy McHenry Floyd

Mrs. Recy Lee Floyd, age 95, of Winter Garden, Florida passed away November 12, 2007, in Winter Garden, Florida. She was born January 23, 1912, in Walton County to Lynn and Saran Lee McHenry.

Mrs. Floyd was a lifelong resident of the Knox Hill Community in Walton County except for the last six years living in Winter Garden, Florida where her daughter was caring for her. She was Baptist by faith and a Charter Member and one of the Founders of the Knox Hill Baptist Church. She was the guiding light to her family and a blessing to all that knew her. She enjoyed fishing and cooking for her family. She had a great love for children, especially her grandchildren.

Mrs. Floyd was preceded in death by her father and mother, her husband Buddy Floyd in 1994; three brothers Webster McHenry, Frank McHenry and Dewey McHenry.

Mrs. Floyd is survived by her two sons Morris Floyd and wife Fran of Ponce De Leon, Florida and Alton Floyd of Marietta, Georgia; one daughter Lillie Abbott and husband Chris of Winter Garden, Florida; one brother David McHenry of Argyle, Florida; three sisters Berta Thomas Floyd and husband Bill of Panama City, Florida, Ila J. Burke of DeFuniak Springs, Florida and Lela Staufer Donaldson of Lakeland, Florida; eight grandchildren Rene Chamberlain of Orlando, Florida, Sean Chamberlain and wife Melissa of Altha, Florida, Tracy Chamberlain and wife Joanna of Altha, Florida, Hank Floyd and wife Jean of Mississippi, Alex Floyd and wife Donna of Ponce De Leon, Florida, Nikki Lawniczak and husband Chet of DeFuniak Springs, Florida, Tim Miles and wife Samantha of DeFuniak Springs, Florida and Sean Abbott and wife Kerry of Pensacola, Florida; twelve great-grandchildren and one great-great-grandchild.

A time of visitation will be held at 6:00~8:00 PM, Wednesday, November 14, 2007, at Clary-Glenn Funeral Home; 230 Park Avenue DeFuniak Springs, Florida 32435. Funeral services will be conducted at 11:00 AM, Thursday, November 15, 2007, at Clary-Glenn Funeral Home, with Reverend Rodney Infinger officiating. Floral arrangements are being accepted. Those asked to serve as pallbearers are as follows Wayne McHenry, James McHenry, Mercer McHenry, Mitch Burke, Charles Trelevan and Marvin Floyd. Burial will follow in the Euchee Valley Cemetery.
