Robert “Phil” Farrior, 86, of Bridge Creek Community, passed away July 28, 2006, at Healthmark Regional Medical Center. He was born Dec. 23, 1919 in Holmes County, FL, to Edwin and Mamie Parrish Farrior.

Farrior was a resident of the Bridge Creek Community. He was Baptist by faith and a member of the Bridge Creek Baptist Church where he served as a deacon, choir director and also Sunday School superintendent.

Farrior was retired with 27 years of service in the Florida Highway Patrol. He was a veteran of WWII, having served his country in the Army Air Corps in the South Atlantic. He retired from civil service with Eglin security police. He enjoyed wood working and working in the yard, he was a member of the Masonic Lodge F&AM # 157, Ponce de Leon, FL for over 55 years.

Farrior was predeceased by his father and mother; two sisters, Lucille Dean and Merle Hicks; one brother, Douglas Farrior and his first wife, Kathleen Farrior.

Farrior is survived by his wife, Ellen Farrior, of Bridge Creek Community; two sons, Robert Farrior Jr. and wife, Jean, and Jerry Farrior and wife, Linda; one daughter, Sandra Farrington and husband, Gary, all of Pensacola, FL; two step-children, Jerry Howell, of Sneads, FL and Diane Beauchamp of Atlanta, GA; three grandchildren, Phillip, Chip and Suzanne; two step-grandchildren, Michael and Rob; three great-grandchildren, Cody, Brandon and Kristen; five step-great-grandchildren, David, Courtney, Cory, Nicholas and Jesse; and one great-great-great-grand son, Jesse Jr.

Funeral services were conducted Monday, July 31, 2006 at Bridge Creek Baptist Church, with [Reverends] Gary Scott and Jim Hollingsworth officiating.

Burial followed in the Sandy Creek Cemetery.
