Roy Arnold

Roy Arnold, 76, of DeFuniak Springs, FL passed away Oct. 10, 2006 in Crestview, FL. He was born Sept. 14, 1930 in Holmes County, FL to Eddie and Maudrena Harrison Arnold.

Arnold had been a resident of Walton County most of his life moving back home after retiring from the U.S. Army. He was Baptist by faith and attended Caney Creek Baptist Church. He was a veteran of the Vietnam War serving his country in the U.S. Army before retiring with over 22 years of service as a Sergeant First Class. He enjoyed visiting his friends and family in Walton County. He also enjoyed riding in his truck and keeping up on current events, locally and nationally.

Arnold was predeceased by his father and mother and wife, Fujie I. Arnold, two brothers, Bobby Joe and John L. Arnold, one sister, Judy Turner, and one sister-in-law, Virginia Arnold.

Arnold is survived by his two daughters, Mauderem Kirby and husband, Kenneth, and Marie Fairchild and husband, Edward, all of Crestview, FL; one brother, Jack L. Arnold, of Liberty, FL; two sisters, Martha Peacock, of DeFuniak Springs, FL, and Joyce Bell, of Liberty, FL; four grandchildren, Jennifer, Elizabeth, Whitney and Caitlin, also one loving aunt, Mabel Hall, and numerous nieces, and nephews.

Funeral services were conducted Saturday, Oct.14, 2006 at Clary-Glenn Funeral Home Chapel, with Rev. Frank McIntosh officiating.

Those ask to serve as pallbearers were Craig Arnold, Kenny Coffey, Kenneth Peacock, Donnie Poole, and Herman Walker. Honorary pallbearers are Tucker Aplin, Coy Bell, Clayton Hall, John Peacock, Buress Watson, and Chester Wilkerson.
