Mr. Roy Ramey, age 93, of DeFuniak Springs passed away March 16, 2008. He was born August 17, 1914 in Cornelia, Georgia to Joe and Louvina Schubert Ramey.
He was Baptist by faith and attended the Pleasant Ridge Baptist Church. He was a veteran of WWII serving his country in the United States Army.
Mr. Ramey was preceded in death by his parents, one sister Virginia Crumley, one brother Red Ramey and one son Allan Ramey.
Mr. Ramey is survived by his wife of 67 years Mary Allen Ramey of DeFuniak Springs, one daughter Andrea Steelman of DeFuniak Springs; 3 grandchildren Stephen Steelman and wife Stephanie, Ron Steelman and wife Stacey and Jennifer Ramey Benghuzzi and husband Ezzeldin; and 4 great grandchildren Joshua, Jordan, Stephen and Samantha.
Visitation services will be conducted at 6:00~8:00 PM, Thursday, March 20, 2008 at Clary-Glenn Funeral Home Chapel; 230 Park Avenue, DeFuniak Springs, Florida 32435.
Funeral services will be conducted at 11:00 AM, Friday, March 21, 2008 at the First Presbyterian Church; 1063 Circle Drive DeFuniak Springs, Florida 32435, with Reverend John Napoli officiating.
Burial will follow in the Leonia Cemetery. Flowers are being accepted or donations may be sent to Pleasant Ridge Baptist Church at 1015 Pleasant Ridge Road DeFuniak Springs, Florida 32435.
