William Sanford McCollough

W. S. McCollough passed to the Great Beyond, Monday, September 16, at 2:15 o’clock, at Florala hospital. He had not been well in four years, but was confined to his bed only a few days. It was a shock to his many friends to hear of his death; he was such a friend to those in need, and a father to the poor.

He was born in Coffee county, Alabama, in 1870; moved from there to Florida at the age of seven years, and has lived near Cluster Springs until his death. He married Ella Frasier, and they raised six children: four boys and two girls; one daughter has gone on before him.

Mr. [McCollough] had been a resident of Florida seven years. He was loved by many and will be missed by all. He leaves a wife and five children, two brothers and two sisters, to mourn his death: Mrs. Leonia Colvin, Mrs. Duss Waldon, Bird McCollough, and John McCollough. He was buried at Cluster Springs church, September 17.
