Albert Deitz, Sr.

Albert Deitz Sr., 92, of DeFuniak Springs, passed away Thursday, January 19, 2006, in Healthmark Regional Medical Center. He was born January 25, 1913 in Mount Carmel, PA, the son of Harvey George Dietz and Mary Jane Evans Dietz.

Deitz spent most of his life in Mount Carmel and was a coal miner by trade. He retired and moved to DeFuniak Springs in 1981. His favorite past times were hunting, fishing and gardening.

Among survivors are his three grandchildren, Paul Deitz and wife, Judy, of Fayettville, NC, Kris Deitz Cash and Mark Deitz, both of DeFuniak Springs; his five great-grandchildren, Matthew, Dusty, Jesse, Jeffrey and Rachel; his brothers, Marshall Deitz, of Mount Carmel, and William Deitz, of Scoth Plains, NJ, and his sister, Evelyn Yarnall, of Mount Carmel.

Pallbearers were Leon Ward, Donald Hoover, Ralph Long, Nick Ramos, Gary Snider, James Cook and Daniel McInnis.

Funeral services were held Sunday, January 22, 2006 in Jerry Evans Chapel, with Reverend Nancy Snider, assisted by Reverend C.W. Steverson, officiating.
