Catts’ Widow Succumbs at 86

A long period of ill health which followed a fall two years ago proved fatal for Mrs. Sidney Johnston Catts, 86, widow of Florida’s World War I governor.

Mrs. Catts died yesterday at a Defuniak Springs hospital, where she was taken after she became seriously ill several weeks ago. She was the former Miss Alice Mae Campbell of Lowndesboro, Ala.

She is survived in her immediate family by two sons and three daughters: Douglas Catts, Miami, Sidney J. Catts Jr., West Palm Beach. Mrs. K. R. Pakerick and Mrs. John Steigel, both of Jacksonville, and Mrs. Howard L. [Cawthon] of Defuniak Springs.

Three brothers and two sisters also survive. They are W. E. Campbell Sr., Montgomery, Ala., W B Campbell, Birmingham, Ala., J. O. Campbell, Bradenton, Fla., and Miss Effie Campbell and Miss L. P. Campbell, both of Birmingham.
