Alonzo Harmon McCook

Mr. Alonzo Harmon (Red) McCook, age 79, of Bruce, passed away in a local hospital Wednesday evening, February 10.

Mr. McCook was a native of Bee County, Texas, and had been a resident of Bruce for the past 21 years. At the time of his death, Mr. McCook operated the Bruce Cafe and Motel.

Survivors include his widow Mrs. Lura McCook, of Bruce; three daughters, Mrs. Margaret Sampson, of Houston, Texas, Mrs. Lou Morton, of Mt. Pleasant, Texas, and Mrs. Glenda Allen, of Lincoln, Nebraska, two sons, Frank McCook and Jerry McCook, both of Beaumont, Texas; 12 grandchildren and 3 great grandchildren.

Funeral services were conducted at 2:30 Saturday, Feb. 13, from the Bruce Methodist Church with Reverend Billy Ray Alexander officiating. Burial followed in the Dead River Cemetery.
