Anna Jackosky Mayer

Anna H. Mayer, age 81, of Defuniak Springs, Florida passed away on July 5, 2008.

She was born November 18, 1926 in Queens, New York, a first generation american. Her parents, Paul and Agnes Jackosky immigrated to this country from Poland through Ellis Island, New York. The family later moved to Teaneck, New Jersey where her parents opened a floral business which instilled her love of flowers.

Anna worked in New York city for the president of Mobil Oil as a secretary for two years. She then married the love of her life Richard J. Mayer who was a graduate of the United States Coast Guard Academy and served as a lieutenant in the Coast Guard for six years. The family moved to Emerson, New Jersey where they reared their four children.

Catholic by faith she served two years as the president of the Rosarian Society in Emerson, New Jersey and was a long time member of St. Ignatius Catholic Church in Yardley, Pa. She moved to Defuniak Springs, Florida January 15, 2004 to be with her daughter Adrienne. She loved the beautiful beaches of Walton County and the wonderful christian people that served her over the past years at the following locations, Stanley House, Chautauqua Rehabilitation And Nursing Center, Healthmark Regional Medical Center and Sacred Heart Hospital.

Anna is preceded by her loving husband Richard J. Mayer and son Robert J. Mayer.

She is survived by her children, Adrienne Mayer-Breuning of Freeport, Florida and her Fiancee Robert L. Teitelbaum, M.D.. John A. Mayer of Eastham, Mass and his wife Doreen Mayer along with their children Joseph and Elizabeth, and Edward Mayer of Jonesburg, New Jersey. Carolyn A. Patterson of Greenwich, Ct her husband Reginald Patterson and their son Luke. Along with several nieces and nephews. The family would like to give special thanks to her physicians that cared for her medical needs over the past several years. Robert l. Teitelbaum, M.D., Todd Stalnaker, D.O., Fawzi Fawaz, M.D., Solomon Reodica, M.D. and the entire Emergency Room Department Of Healthmark Regional Medical Center.

Funeral services will be held 11:00 am, Wednesday, July 9, 2008 at Allen Hooper Home Chapel , 41 West Trenton Avenue, Yardley, Pa. Floral arrangements are being accepted. Burial will follow in the St. Ignatius Catholic Church Cemetery.
