Mrs. Lucille Adkinson, age 80, of DeFuniak Springs passed away November 26, 2007 in DeFuniak Springs, Florida. She was born August 2, 1927 in Jacksonville, Florida to A.M. and Blannie Price.
Mrs. Adkinson had been a lifelong resident of Walton County. She was Baptist by faith and a member of the Pleasant Ridge Baptist Church, where she taught Sunday School for over 35 years. She worked as an assistant Property Appraiser to Hubert R. Adkinson for over 12 years for the Walton County Property Appraisers Office. She worked as a Pink Lady Volunteer at Walton Regional Hospital for 20 years. In her younger years she enjoyed riding horses and spending time with her young children in the Alaqua Community.
Mrs. Adkinson was preceded in death by her father and mother, her husband Hubert R. Adkinson, and one daughter Barbara Susan Carroll.
Mrs. Adkinson is survived by her son Don Stephen Adkinson of DeFuniak Springs, Florida; daughter Sheila Adkinson of DeFuniak Springs, Florida; eight grandchildren Michael David Carroll, Reggie D. Carroll, Nicole Mezyk, Christopher Adkinson, Andrew Adkinson, Gary Anthony Coone II, Tina Christine Douglass, Tiffany Ann Coone, and Christopher Anthony Coone and nine great grandchildren. Also survived by a very special friend Ira McLeod.
A time of visitation will be held at 6:00-8:00 PM, Wednesday, November 28, 2007 at Clary-Glenn Funeral Home; 230 Park Avenue DeFuniak Springs, Florida 32435.
Funeral services will be conducted at 10:00 AM, Thursday, November 29, 2007 at Pleasant Ridge Baptist Church, with Reverends Owen Smith and Phil McMillian officiating.
Burial will follow in the Pleasant Ridge Cemetery.
Those asked to serve as pallbearers are as follows: Clayton Adkinson, Mike Adkinson, Rusty Rushton, Stanley Hobbs, Rodney Adkinson, Johnny Foxhall and Ronnie Gainey. Floral arrangements are being accepted.
