Mrs. Betty Burkett, 80, of DeFuniak Springs, FL, passed away Dec. 25, 2006 in DeFuniak Springs. She was born Sept. 16, 1926 in Geneva, AL to Amos and Lula Hughes Adams.
Mrs. Burkett had been a lifelong resident of Walton County. She was a member of the Community Holiness Church in DeFuniak Springs. She devoted her life to her family and friends.
Mrs. Burkett was predeceased by her father and mother.
Mrs. Burkett is survived by her husband, Odis R. Burkett of DeFuniak Springs; one son, Charles Ray Burkett and wife, Karen, of Ft. Bragg, NC; one daughter Ann Cook and husband, Bill of DeFuniak Springs; two brothers, Delmer Adams and Virgil Adams, both of DeFuniak Springs; two sisters, Annie Mae Bishow of North Arlington, NJ and Grace Price of East Stroudsburg PA; six grandchildren, Deborah, Carroll, Carolyn Slay, Tim Carroll, Terry Carroll, Jamie Cook, and Savanna Burkett; ten great-grandchildren; six great-great-grandchildren, and numerous nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be conducted Friday, Dec. 29, 2006 at Clay-Glenn Funeral Home with Rev. Howard Taylor and Ike Bird officiating.
Burial will follow in Magnolia Cemeteyr.
