Cathy Lynn Posey, 42, of DeFuniak Springs, FL, formerly of Meridian, MS, passed away on February 23, 2006 in Santa Rosa Beach, FL. She was born on October 5, 1963 in Phoenix, AZ. She was the daughter of Melvin Wiley King and the late Gaynelle Faith King.
Posey had lived in DeFuniak Springs since 2003, moving from Meridian, MS, where she had lived for many years. She was known for being a very caring and giving person. She loved the Lord and her family very much. Cathy had several pets over the years that she doted on. Cathy had battled cancer for several years and had been under the care of her father, Melvin Wiley King and her sister, Barbara Lynn Marell.
Posey is preceded in death by her mother, Gaynelle Faith King.
Cathy is survived by her father, Melvin Wiley King, of DeFuniak Springs, FL; two daughters, Marlena Morris, of Philadelphia, MS, and Christy Nowell, of Carthage, MS; one stepson, John Mark Posey of Philadelphia, MS; four brothers, Virgil Lee Brittain, of Des Moines, IA, Ray King and wife, Arlene, of Philadelphia, MS, Rev. David King and wife, Karen, of DeFuniak Springs, FL, and Joseph King, of Elmira, NY; two sisters, Teresa Ann Dean, of Meridian, MS, and Barbara Lynn Marell and husband, David, of Santa Rosa Beach, FL, and seven grandchildren.
Memorialization was made by cremation.
Memorial services will be held on March 25, 2006 at the Mount Carmel Baptist Church in Edinburg, MS.
