Cora Vermell Brown

Cora Vermell Brown, 88, of Portland, died Tuesday [April 10, 1979] at her residence.

Mrs. Brown was a native and lifelong resident of Portland and was a member of the Damascus Freewill Baptist Church.

Survivors include four daughters, Minnie Merle Edwards of Niceville, Margaret Mclntosh of Columbus, Ga., Elsie Taylor of Moss Point, Miss., and Albertine Watters of Choctaw Beach; four sons, Sterling O. Brown, Oscar J. Brown, T C. Brown, and Damon C. Brown, all of Portland; a sister, Iva Bell Redick of Gulf Breeze; two brothers, J. Will Kelly of DeFuniak Springs, and Bodie Kelly of Daytona Beach; 50 grandchildren; 105 great grandchildren; and 11 [great-]great-grandchildren.

Funeral services will be 3 p.m. Friday in the Comander Funeral Home chapel with the Rev. J. C. O’Neal officiating.

Burial [will] be at Thatcher Cemetery with Comander Funeral Home directing.
