Coy Collinsworth

Coy Collinsworth, 88, of Gaskin, FL, passed away on May 10, 2006 in Florala, AL. He was born on Sept. 11, 1917, to Joseph and Fannie Infinger Collinsworth, in Gaskin.

Collinsworth was a life long resident of Walton County.

He was Baptist by faith and a member of the Gaskin First Baptist Church. He was a veteran of World War II, serving his country in the U.S. Army. He also worked with the civil service at Eglin Air Force Base for over 20 years before retiring.

Collinsworth is preceded in death by his parents, Joseph and Fannie Collinsworth; two sisters, Amilee Hemphill and Alamae Mosley; four brothers, Harley, Ross, Dewey, and Hezikiah Collinsworth.

Collinsworth is survived by his wife of 59 years, Ruby Collinsworth, of Gaskin; one son, Billy Joe Collinsworth and wife, Betty Jean, of Gaskin; one daughter, Betty Coon and husband, J.B. of Liberty, FL; one sister, Grace Holt, of DeFuniak Springs, and four grandchildren, Bradley Collinsworth and wife, Joanna, Brett Collinsworth and fiancee, Shannon Nelson, Brian Coon, and Regina Coon.

Funeral Services were held Friday, May 12, 2006, at the Gaskin First Baptist Church with Rev. Bobby Hattaway officiating.

Burial followed in the Gaskin First Baptist Church Cemetery.
