David Ray Weidenhaft, Sr.

Mr. David Weidenhaft, age 85, of Freeport, Florida passed away January 31, 2008. He was born March 17, 1922 in Beloit, Kansas to Edward and Edna Steere Weidenhaft.

Mr. Weidenhaft had been a resident of Freeport. He was a veteran of WWII serving his country in the United Army in the 101st Airborne Division as a Paratrooper. He worked with Civil Service at Eglin Air Force Base for over 20 years. He was an avid Bass Fisherman. He was a member of the Bass Anglers Sportsman Society.

Mr. Weidenhaft was preceded in death by his father and mother, one son David Ray Weidenhaft Jr., and one brother Frederick Weidenhaft.

Mr. Weidenhaft is survived by his wife of 64 years Wilda Weidenhaft of Freeport; three sons Edward Travis Weidenhaft and wife Debra of Nappanee, Indiana, John L. Weidenhaft and wife Marcia of Lynn Haven, Florida and Steven B. Weindenhaft and wife Frances of Freeport, Florida; two daughters Norma McCormick and husband Tommy of Freeport, Florida and Patricia Holloway and husband Buddy of Gaskin, Florida; two brothers Robert Weidenhaft of Eugene, Oregon and James Weidenhaft of Northbend, Oregon; eleven grandchildren Sean, Ashley, Jennifer and husband Scott, Heather and husband Tim, Jeffery, Amanda, Christy and husband Tony, Jason, Shannon, Steven and Travis and twelve great-grandchildren.

A time of visitation of visitation will be held 6:00~8:00PM, Sunday, February 3, 2008 at Clary-Glenn Freeport Chapel Funeral Home; 150 East Highway 20, Freeport, Florida 32439.

Graveside services will be held 2:00 PM, Monday, February 4, 2008 at Magnolia Cemetery, with Reverend Louis Taunton officiating, with military honors.
