Donald Maurice Woods, 74, of Winter Haven, FL, died as the result of a car accident on August 18, 2006 at Tampa General Hospital.
Woods was born November 16, 1931, in Flint, MI. He was a winter visitor for seven years before making Winter Haven his home in 2000. Woods moved to Winter Haven from Au Gres, MI. He served in the Air Force. He was a truck driver for 52 years. He was a member of the First Church of the Nazarene in Winter Haven.
Woods was a strong, loving, family man who was always ready and willing to help his family and friends. The love for his family was only surpassed by his love for the Lord. He was always ready and willing to tackle any task.
Woods is survived by his wife, F. Louise Kelly Woods, previously of DeFuniak Springs, FL; son, Rodney Woods, Howell, MI; step-son, Elon Morris, Lake Wales, FL; daughters, Reyne’ Christenson, Springfield, MO, Ruth Ann Matthews, Howell, MI, and Rhonda Davidson, Brighton, MI; step~daughter, Robin Reniers, Lakeland, FL; brother, Keith Heermann, Springfield, MO; sister, Kay Fras, Flint, MI; 11 grandchildren, five step-grandchildren, one great-grandchild, and many nephews and nieces.
Woods is preceded in death by his first wife, Joyce Henderson Woods, and their son, Danny Woods.
