Estella Weber Wehner

Estelle Weber Wehner, 80, of Santa Rosa Beach, FL, died Feb. 26, 2007 at Sacred Heart Hospital, Santa Rosa Beach, FL.

Born of Mr. and Mrs. W. Leroy Weber, Sr., of Taft, TX on Oct. 6, 1926, she graduated with a bachelor’s degree in communications with an emphasis on radio and television broadcasting from the University of Texas in 1950. She was one of the first people on television in America at KTBC Television, Austin, TX. She Married L.G. “Vern” Wehner in Austin on May 11, 1957.

She was preceded in death by her brother, James Weber, and parents, Mr. and Mrs. W. Leroy Weber, Sr.

She is survived by husband, L.G. “Vern” Wehner, of Santa Rosa Beach; son, John Wehner and his wife Jill; two [granddaughters], Brianna and Mary Christine, of Destin, FL, and brother, W.L. Weber Jr., of Houston, TX, and numerous other relatives.

Funeral services were held on Thursday, March 1, 2007 at St. Rita’s Catholic Church 137 Moll Drive Santa Rosa Beach FL, 32459.

Interment was held at Taft Family Cemetery in Taft, TX, on Monday, March 5, 2007.
