Mrs. Jackie Jackson, age 84, of DeFuniak Springs, Florida passed away August 3, 2008. She was born June 29, 1924 in Ponce De Leon, Florida to Aaron and Maggie Chamberlain Jackson.
Mrs. Jackson had been a lifelong resident of Walton County. She was Baptist by faith and a member of Baldwin Avenue Baptist Church. She owned and operated Chance’s Florist in DeFuniak Springs for over 30 years. She enjoyed embroidering.
Mrs. Jackson was preceded in death by her parents, one brother Rual Jackson and one brother-in-law Leonard Grant.
Mrs. Jackson is survived by her sister Vernie Grant of DeFuniak Springs; nephew Donnie Jackson and wife Lori of Tallahassee, Florida; niece Serita Hanson and husband David Licking of Missouri,; two great nieces Chelsea Hanson and Morgan Jackson; one great nephew Keith Hanson and one sister-in-law Barbara Jackson of Tallahassee, Florida.
A time of visitation will be held 6:00-8:00 PM, Tuesday, August 5, 2008 at Clary-Glenn Funeral Home Chapel; 230 Park Avenue DeFuniak Springs, Florida.
Funeral services will be held at 10:00 AM, Wednesday, August 6, 2008 at Clary-Glenn Funeral Home Chapel with Reverends Richard Murray and Glen Spence officiating.
Active pallbearers will be Jim Cotton, Danny Infinger, Ralph Brasewell, Leonard Byrd, Jimmy Sikes, and Brad Molloham. Honorary pallbearer will be Lester Skipper.
Burial will follow in the New Ponce De Leon Cemetery.
Floral arrangements are being accepted.
