Mrs. Gail Carter, age 69, of DeFuniak Springs passed away June 4, 2008. She was born May 26, 1939, in Mississippi to Pete and Ruth Cook Hinote.
Mrs. Carter has been a resident of DeFuniak Springs. She was Methodist by faith and a member of the First United Methodist Church. She was very active in the First United Methodist Church Women’s Group. She graduated from Walton High School and also from Chipola Junior College where she received her Associates Degree and she also attended Troy State University. She worked as a Airport Gift Shop Manager for many years, for the same company, Paradies Shops. She enjoyed playing bridge, traveling and serving in her church and spending time with her many friends and cousins. She also enjoyed providing transportation for her elderly friends.
Mrs. Carter is preceded in death by her father and mother.
Mrs. Carter is survived by her brother Lloyd H. Hinote and wife Rene of Monroe, North Carolina, two nieces Lorrie Arcelisi and husband Mark and Dawn Schustrman, one nephew Lloyd H. Hinote Jr. and wife Jennifer, also survived by numerous great nieces and nephews.
Visitation services will be conducted at 9:00-10:00 AM, Saturday, June 7, 2008, at Clary-Glenn Funeral Home Chapel, 230 Park Avenue, DeFuniak Springs, Florida 32435.
Funeral services will be conducted at 10:00 AM, Saturday, June 7, 2008, at Clary-Glenn Funeral Home Chapel, with Reverend Rob West officiating.
Floral arrangements are being accepted or donations may be made to the First United Methodist Church at PO Box 9, DeFuniak Springs, Florida 32435.
Burial will follow in the Magnolia Cemetery.
The family would like to extend a special thank you to Hilda Carpenter, Jenelle Berry, and Randall Shelley for their love and untiring efforts on Gail’s behalf.
