J. T. Padgett

J T Padgett, 74, of Ponce de Leon, FL, passed away at his home Thursday, May 4, 2006. He was born December 9, 1931 in Holmes County, the son of John Henry and Mary Ellen Taylor Padgett. He was a veteran, having served his country with the United States Air Force. He owned and operated PadCo Auto Parts and Service Station in Ponce de Leon for some 51 years. He is predeceased by his brothers, Graham, Billy and David Padgett. He was a member of First Baptist Church of Ponce de Leon.

Among survivors are his wife, JoAn Sapp Padgett; his brother, Elray Padgett and wife, Ann, of Panama City; his sisters, Mary Lois Patterson and husband, Donald, of Lawrenceville, GA, and Maxine Smith, of Pensacola; his brother-in-law, Robert J . Sapp and wife, Alice, of Medina Lake, TX; his sister-in-law, Vivian Padgett, of DeFuniak Springs, and numerous beloved nieces and nephews.

Pallbearers were Robert Patterson, Dalton Spears, Larry Padgett, Leonard Richert, David Griffin, Herbert Rushing, Spiers and Philip Hogland.

Funeral services were held Saturday, May 6, 2006, at First Baptist Church of Ponce de Leon, with Reverend Greg Alford officiating. Burial followed in New Ponce de Leon Cemetery.
