Jerry Lynn

Jerry Lynn, Fort Walton Beach, passed away unexpectedly in his home on January 19, 2007 at the age of 57. He was born on January 1, 1950 in DeFuniak Springs and lived his life in the northwest Florida Panhandle area.

He was preceded in death by his father, Olis Elmer Lynn, in 1987 and both his maternal and paternal grandparents.

He is survived by his mother, Elvie Hutchinson Lynn, of Sharlimar/Destin; brothers, William A. “Bill” Lynn, of Woodville, and R. Scott Lynn, whereabouts unknown; sisters, Tanya Lynn (Ralph) Lauzze, of New Carlisle, OH, and Lisa Lynn-Clawson (Rance Clawson), of Shalimar.

He also leaves behind nieces and nephews, Jennifer Lynn, Jessica Lynn, Kelly West, Ralph Lauzze III, Joey Yahr, Kristina Lynn-McCallion, Kayla Lynn-Clawson, and his namesake, Jerry Lynn-Clawson. Aunts and uncles who survive are Edith Sullivan, Hilda Hutchinson, Muriel Spears, and Joan (Terry) McDonald. Many cousins also survive, one with whom he had a close friendship, William Kenneth “Kenny” Pyles.

He served in the Navy during the Vietnam war. Jerry love to write and spent many hours on his short stories and poetry, much of that time writing late at night when it was quietest. He also had a passion for gardening and fishing.

At his request, Jerry is to be cremated and his ashes scattered over the Gulf in a private family ceremony. Condolences and memories can be shared with the family through email at IRC1963@earhtlink.com.
