Jimmy Ray Cotton

Jimmy Ray Cotton, 69, of Ponce de Leon, FL, passed away Tuesday, Jan. 31, 2006. Cotton was born May 11, 1936, in Geneva County, AL, to the late Lonnie D. and Epsy Lee Curry Cotton.

When the Cotton Brothers Grocery Store was in operation he was very active in the business. He enjoyed golf and for the past 10 years had
managed Sandy Pines Golf Course. He was a member of New Beginnings Church.

In addition to his parents, three brothers, Nathan, Dalton and Don, preceded him in death.

Survivors include two daughters, Karen Renee Gery, of Red Bay, FL., and Terisa Burnham, of Freeport, FL; three grandchildren, Michael Wayne
Gery Jr., of Panama City, FL, Joshua Ray Gery and Harley Virginia Gery, both of Red Bay, FL; two sisters, Peggy Cotton, Dorothy Driggers and husband Buck, all of Geneva, AL.; two brothers, Dorman Cotton, of Lynn Haven, FL and Carl Cotton of Freeport; and several nieces and nephews.

Funeral services were held Thursday, Feb. 2, 2006, in the Sorrells Funeral Home Chapel in Geneva, with Rev. Lewis Tanton officiating.

Burial followed in the McDuffie family cemetery. Memorial contributions may be made to New Beginnings Church, Freeport, FL.
