John Frank Lowe

John Frank Lowe, 75, of DeFuniak Springs, FL passed away Aug. 1, 2006 at his residence. He was born Feb. 28, 1931 in West Bay, FL to Jenkins and Pennie Forehand Lowe.

Lowe had lived most of his life in Walton County. He was Pentecostal by faith and a member of the Damascas Pentecostal Ministries Church. He was a veteran of the Korean War serving his country in the United States Army as a paratrooper for over nine years. He worked at Eglin Air Force Base as a civil engineer for over 20 years. He was a member of the Masonic Lodge F&AM # 157, Ponce de Leon, Florida.

Lowe was predeceased by his father and mother; one brother, Thomas Lowe; his first wife, Betty Jean Lowe, and one son, Jimmy Franklin Lowe.

Lowe is survived by his wife, Sheila Lowe, of DeFuniak Springs; one son, Jerry “Boot” Lowe and wife, Donna, of Gastonia, NC; one daughter, Sharon “Frog” King and husband, Mike, of Gulf Breeze, FL; one step-daughter, April Scharver and husband, Michael, and step-son, Marcus Mason and wife, Amber, all of DeFuniak Springs; brother, Grady Lowe and wife, Rose, of Apalachicola, FL; five sisters, Helen Talley and husband, Olin, of DeFuniak Springs, Jean Collinsworth and husband, Alto, of Tallahassee, FL, Earlene Johns, Dorenda Curry and Mildred Williamson, all of DeFuniak Springs; four grandchildren, Jennifer, Brandi, Nathan, and Jared; seven step-grandchildren, Krystalyn “Stinky”, Teresa, Rachel, Dyani, Destiny, Terriny, and Lucus. He is also survived by a host of nieces and nephews.

Funeral services were held Friday, Aug. 4, 2006 at Damascas Pentecostal Ministries Church in Freeport with Rev. Charles Carlton officiating.

Burial followed in the Euchee Valley Cemetery with military honors and Masonic Rites at graveside.
