John White, Jr.

Mr. John White Jr. age 87, of DeFuniak Springs, Florida passed away December 2, 2007. He was born November 14, 1920 in Westville, Florida to John and Mamie Barton White.

Mr. White had been a lifelong resident of Walton County. He was Full Gospel by faith. He was a veteran of WWII, serving his country in the United States Army Air Corps, having served in the Philippines and in New Guinea. He was awarded the Philippine Liberation Medal with Star Circle. He was a member of the Gideon International, Kiwanis Club, Honorary Member of the Future Farmers of America and Charter Member and Elder of World Evangelism Outreach Church.

Mr. White was preceded in death by his father and mother, one daughter Katrina Pickles and one brother Rex White.

Mr. White is survived by his loving wife Mary Gladys White; three sons Wayne White and wife Elaine of DeFuniak Springs, Florida, Roger White and wife Dianne of Ponce De Leon, Florida and David White and wife Julie of DeFuniak Springs, Florida; two daughters Cathy Marion and husband Ray of Thomson, Georgia and Barbara Gibson and husband Pete of Tupelo, Mississippi/ Romania; two brothers James B. White and wife Peggy of Westville, Florida and Tommy White and wife Jeris of Thaxton, Mississippi; five sisters Vela Crutchfield of Columbus, Georgia, Mildred Gainey of Pensacola, Florida and Wilma Nelson and husband Roy of Milton, Florida, Liz Griffin and husband Gene of Freeport, Florida and Inez Kent and husband Eddie of Gahanna, Ohio; seventeen grandchildren and eighteen great grandchildren.

A time of visitation will be held at 6:00-8:00 PM, Monday, December 3, 2007 at World Evangelism Outreach Church; 1701 US HWY 90 East, DeFuniak Springs, Florida 32433. Funeral services will be conducted at 2:00 PM, Tuesday, December 4, 2007 at World Evangelism Outreach Church, with Reverends Wes White, Wayne White and Raymond Williams officiating. Floral arrangements are being accepted or donations may be made to Gideons International, P.O. Box 925, DeFuniak Springs, Florida 32435. Those asked to serve as pallbearers are grandsons Michael Green, Mark Welch, Todd Bierbaum, Jared White, John McCombs and Andrew White. Honorary pallbearers are Wayne Bodie, Peck Cawthon, Ron Burgess, P.C. Fort, Walter Ales, Edwin Cutchens, Ben Barton, A.C. Smith, Ross Dannelley and Reverend James Paul.
