Joseph C. Walker

Joseph Walker, age 69, passed away March 26, 2008, in DeFuniak Springs, Florida. He was born July 11, 1938, in Geneva, Alabama, to Jim and Cloesther Walker.

Mr. Walker had been a resident of Walton County, Florida since 1971 moving from Opp, Alabama. He was Holiness by faith and a member of the Community Holiness Church in DeFuniak Springs, Florida. He enjoyed playing gospel music and sharing his personal testimony with others. He also enjoyed spending time with his grandchildren and great grandchildren. He loved to cook. Joe was employed with Clary-Godwin, Comander, and Clary-Glenn Funeral Homes and enjoyed helping families in their time of need, he was well known for visiting with family and friends during visitations.

Mr. Walker was preceded in death by his parents and loving wife Willie Jewel Walker.

Mr. Walker is survived by his two sons; Ken Walker and wife Jackie of Clearwater, Florida, and Alvis Clark of Darlington, Florida, four daughters; Thersa Walker of Indiana, Sandra Miller of Glendale, Florida, Merle Carroll of Darlington, Florida, and Marilyn Rogers of Florala, Alabama, three brothers; Marvin Walker, Richard Walker and Louis Walker all of Opp, Alabama, and one sister; Juanita Walker of Opp, Alabama. He is also survived by seven grandchildren, Joey, Christopher, Zach, James, Tommy, Marie and Daphne and three great grandchildren: Jamie, Jocelyn and Lane.

A time of visitation will be held from 6:00 – 8:00 PM, Sunday, March 29, 2008, at Clary-Glenn Funeral Home Chapel, 230 Park Avenue, DeFuniak Springs., Florida.

Funeral services will be conducted at 3:00 PM, Sunday, March 30, 2008, at the Community Holiness Church in DeFuniak Springs, Florida with Reverends Howard Taylor and Joel Glenn officiating.

Floral arrangements are being accepted. Burial will be in the Limestone Cemetery.
