Katherine M. Cochran

Katherine M. Cochran of Pensacola, passed away August 29, 2002 following a lengthy illness.

She was a member of the Cathedral of the Sacred Heart. She was the daughter of Lillian F. Kelly and Howard B. Cochran, born August 18, 1943 in DeFuniak Springs, Florida. Katherine graduated from Pensacola Junior College in 1976 with an Associate of Science Degree in Nursing. She retired in 1997 after years of service in the Intensive Care Nursery.

She was preceded in death by her mother, father and stepfather, J.L. Mims.

Survivors included one sister Frances Mims, niece Holly Whalen, two aunts Geraldine Hayes, Betty Ely; four uncles S. Kelly, Watson Kelly, Wayne Kelly, Jimmy Kelly; with several cousins and many friends with two very special friends Maxine Hopmeier and Julie Daughtry.

Active pallbearers will be S. Kelly, Watson Kelly, Wayne Kelly, Jimmy Kelly, and Frank Daughtry. Honorary pallbearers are Floyd Whalen arid Bob Shanks.

Katharine’s family wishes to express their heartfelt thanks to Dr. S. Patel & staff, Dr. M. Brown, Dr. C. Cleveland, Dr. B. French, Dr. L. Makarowski and Dr. E. Frank and, the nurses and staff of St. Catherine’s unit of Sacred Heart Hospital for the excellent care and compassion they gave Katherine.

Mass of Christian Burial to be held 10:00 a.m., Saturday, August 31, 2002 at Cathedral of the Sacred Heart. Monsignor Michael Reed will serve as celebrant.

Interment will follow at Bayview Memorial Park. Family will receive friends Friday, 5-7 at Bayview Fisher-Pou Chapel, 3351 Scenic Highway.

The Rosary will be recited at 6:30 p.m. Friday at the funeral home.

In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made to Mary Knoll Fathers and Brothers, P.O. Box 301, Marknoll, NY 10545-0301.
